As the business environment places increasing demands on Corporate Governance (CG), the highly anticipated CG Manual 2025 was officially launched on April 2, 2025, in Hanoi and will be launched on April 4, 2025, in Ho Chi Minh City. This publication is a collaborative effort between the State Securities Commission of Vietnam (SSC) and the International Finance Corporation (IFC), with support from the Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO). At the event, VIOD, as the technical partner for CG assessments in ASEAN, provided an overview of regional CG practices, positioning Vietnam within this broader landscape. Through our analysis and assessment, the manual is recognized as an essential tool to help businesses establish practical, well-structured CG regulations aligned with best practices.

Mr. Vu Chi Dung, representing the SSC, remarked: "Over the past 15 years, Vietnam’s CG regulations have undergone significant changes, marked by the introduction of the 2019 Securities Law, the 2020 Enterprise Law, and the G20/OECD 2023 CG Principles. The 2025 edition, with its updated regulations, practices, and international insights, will serve as a valuable resource for business leaders in implementing and enhancing CG”. Additionally, Mr. Andri Meier, representing the Swiss Embassy in Vietnam, emphasized that strong CG enhances business resilience, attracts investment, and plays a crucial role in helping Vietnam avoid the middle-income trap while ensuring sustainable economic growth.

Representative of the State Securities Commission - Mr. Vu Chi Dung also said: "Over the past 15 years, Vietnam's corporate governance regulations have undergone many major changes with the promulgation of the Securities Law 2019, the Enterprise Law 2020, and the G20/OECD Corporate Governance Principles 2023. This 2025 publication with the most updated regulations, practices and knowledge on corporate governance will support business leaders in the process of implementing and practicing corporate governance". In addition, Mr. Andri Meier - representative of the Swiss Embassy in Vietnam emphasized that good corporate governance helps businesses stay strong in the face of crisis, attract investment, help the Vietnamese economy avoid the middle-income trap and move towards sustainable growth.
