
On June 6, 2025, the Vietnam Institute of Directors (VIOD), in collaboration with the State Securities Commission of Vietnam (SSC), successfully hosted the conference titled "Resolution 68-NQ/TW on Private Economic Development: What are the Opportunities for Listed and Public Companies?", marking an important starting point for Vietnam’s capital market business community.
The event gathered over 400 participants in-person and online, including nearly 100 senior leaders - Chairpersons, Board Members, CEOs, and Executives of listed and public companies. With strategic guidance from market regulators and institutions, this leadership cohort is expected to lead the way in translating policy opportunities into long-term advantages. online, including nearly 100 senior leaders who are Chairmen of Board of Directors, Board members, General Directors and Executive Boards of listed enterprises and public companies. The conference featured a keynote by Mr. Phan Duc Hieu, Standing Member of the National Assembly's Economic Committee and Chair of VIOD’s Senior Advisory Board. In the panel discussion "Resolution 68 – What are the Opportunities for Listed and Public Companies?", representatives from the SSC, the Private Sector Development Research Board (Board IV), investment fund, and leading company shared actionable insights to elevate corporate governance practices, aligning with ASEAN and OECD standards.
VIOD also presented updates from the 2024 ASEAN Corporate Governance Scorecard (ACGS). With current scores below the regional average, Vietnam’s companies are aiming for significant improvements in governance quality. The top five Vietnamese companies with the highest ACGS scores will represent Vietnam and be recognized at the ASEAN Corporate Governance Awards 2025 in Malaysia this July.

In addition to continuing VNCG50 initiative—highlighting Vietnam’s 50 most pioneering companies committed to improving corporate governance, VIOD officially launched a new initiative: Breakthrough Corporate Governance Initiative (BCGI). This initiative supports fast-growing companies in proactively enhancing their governance capabilities, helping them stay ahead of institutional and market requirements.
The conference also marked the official launch of the book “New Living Cases on Corporate Governance", developed with the support of the International Finance Corporation (IFC). This publication serves as a valuable reference for corporate leaders who seek to leverage governance as both a capital access route and a strategic growth enabler.
