As the market approaches the official upgrade milestone, coupled with strategic legal shifts in corporate governance and the formal operation of the International Financial Center in Ho Chi Minh City to welcome new capital flows, the Annual General Meeting (AGM) has evolved beyond a mere legal formality. It is now a critical benchmark of a company’s governance capacity and long-term commitment. Investors, particularly international ones, will evaluate the level of information transparency, the quality of the Board’s accountability, the culture of shareholder dialogue, and the ability to articulate sustainable development strategies through the AGM. For visionary and committed business leaders, pioneering the application of OECD international standards and practices in Corporate Governance (CG) and ESG remains a top priority.
To foster momentum for public companies as they prepare for the upcoming AGM season, amidst significant regulatory changes and heightened investor expectations regarding CG and ESG, VIOD, in collaboration with the State Securities Commission (SSC) and the Vietnam Stock Exchange (VNX), is organizing a spring forum themed: “2026 AGM Season: Compliance or Breakthrough – Efficiency or Sustainability”. The forum is held with the partnership of the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange (HOSE), the Hanoi Stock Exchange (HNX), and the Vietnam Securities Depository and Clearing Corporation (VSDC). VCCorp Corporation and CafeF serve as the official media partners for the event.
The forum focuses on discussing and updating legal changes and their impacts on Corporate Governance; AGM organizational practices driven by “proactive compliance” and the pioneering adoption of new OECD principles guided by the VNCG Code (issued by the SSC in January 2026); and an in-depth panel discussion addressing the question: “Listed Companies: Compliance or Breakthrough – Efficiency or Sustainability?”. Additionally, the latest updates on the ASEAN Corporate Governance Scorecard (ACGS) will be presented to prepare for the 2026 regional assessment. This forum serves as an intensive exchange platform for regulators and enterprises to build a unified voice in creating trust and reputation for businesses and the Vietnamese capital market during this breakthrough development phase.
