As part of a high-level regional series focused on capital market development and promoting corporate governance across ASEAN, the Vietnam Institute of Directors (VIOD) delegation attended the ASEAN Corporate Governance Conference & Awards (CGCA) 2025 in Kuala Lumpur on July 24, 2025.
The event was officiated by the Minister of Investment, Trade, and Industry of Malaysia, and featured insightful sharing from the Chair of the ASEAN Capital Markets Forum (ACMF) and the Executive Chairman of the Securities Commission Malaysia. It brought together more than 400 participants, including regulators, listed companies, institutional investors, and governance professionals from across the region — reaffirming ASEAN’s shared commitment to transparency, integrity, and sustainable market development.
Based on the results of the ACGS, outstanding companies were honored at the awards ceremony. Among them were five Vietnamese companies recognized for their strong corporate governance practices: Ca Mau Petroleum Fertilizer Joint Stock Company, FPT Corporation, Ho Chi Minh City Development Joint Stock Commercial Bank (HDBank), Vietnam Dairy Products Joint Stock Company, and Vietnam Prosperity Joint Stock Commercial Bank (VPBank).
With promising signals from the 2024 assessment cycle, the ACGS continues to be recognized as a key instrument for strengthening investor confidence and positioning ASEAN as a region of high corporate governance standards. VIOD strongly believes that, with continued efforts to enhance governance practices, more Vietnamese companies will be selected for ACGS evaluation and recognized among ASEAN Asset Class PLCs in future assessments.
