On March 5, 2025, the Women Directors Forum 2025 was jointly organized by the Hanoi Stock Exchange (HNX) and the Vietnam Institute of Directors (VIOD), with the technical support of the International Finance Corporation (IFC) and the Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO). The event attracted more than 100 delegates attending both in person and online, with the special participation of female Chairs, members of the Boards of Directors (BODs), and women leaders.

In his opening speech, Mr. Nguyễn Anh Phong – Chief Executive Officer of HNX – highly appreciated the efforts of the parties, including VIOD, in promoting Corporate Governance (CG), strengthening the responsibilities of the BOD, and diversifying its composition in terms of membership, age, gender, and experience.
In the current context, enterprises need to become pioneers and take the lead in promoting ESG and Sustainable Development. Much has been mentioned about the elements E (Environment) and G (Governance); however, the element S (Social) has not yet been truly emphasized. For listed companies, the “S” is reflected in diversity, equity, and inclusion, specifically through the participation of female BOD members. They are the key to improving the quality of decision-making, risk governance, and promoting innovation and creativity within enterprises.
This was even more evident through the profound sharing of international experts from Bangladesh and Malaysia, together with a lively panel discussion featuring top business leaders in Vietnam. The practical stories and valuable experiences from the speakers emphasized the indispensable role of women in building effective and sustainable BODs, contributing to a transparent business environment and long-term development.
